THE MISSION OF The Indian Land Christmas Parade IS TO PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT THROUGH AN ENJOYABLE, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EXPERIENCE THAT KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON.
The Indian Land Christmas Parade, a privately-sponsored event, invites participants based exclusively on their ability to provide appropriate family entertainment suitable for this cherished national holiday. While the parade respects and embraces the diversity of causes in our community, state and nation, it cannot be used to promote special interests, no matter how worthy.
The Indian Land Christmas Parade organizers will not consider incomplete applications and reserve the right to make all determinations related to participation in the Parade on the basis of entertainment value. By submitting an application, prospective participants accept this participation policy.

We have an impressive lineup post parade! Starting at 5:30 pm join us along 521 at the intermediate school to sing carols and celebrate the unity of Lancaster County. At dusk we will light the stunning 14ft Christmas tree for all to enjoy this holiday season. We are very excited about this added feature this year and hope your family & neighbors will join us!

Participants are reminded this is a family oriented event and any person(s) not abiding by the rules will be taken out of the parade.

- Exemplify the region's wide cultural diversity
- Present an attractive, cohesive, coordinated group appearance
- Add to the Parade's overall entertainment value

The parade organizers are seeking marching bands to participate in the parade. This category is specific to school marching bands that may also include flag corps, dancers, majorettes, rifles, letter girls and pompom girls. Marching bands will be judged for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place scholarship money! Judges will be looking for the band that can entertain and excite spectators all while having fun! Be as creative as you like. You’ll have up to three (3) minutes to stop and wow the judges, then continue the parade. The winners will be announced at the Tree Lighting Ceremony, and posted on our website. ILCPO will award up to $500 for 1st place, $375 for 2nd place and $250 for 3rd place.

This category includes any units that are motorized or comprised of walkers and offers an excellent opportunity to let your creativity show. Entries included in this category may include, but are not limited to:

- "Specialty vehicles," such as antique cars, fire engines, carriages, race cars, etc.
- Car and motorcycle clubs
- Community organizations or neighborhood groups
- Talent able to perform while walking (jugglers, stilt walkers, etc.)
- Dogs and other tame animals accompanied by human handlers. Handlers are required to clean up any animal waste that occurs during staging, route and disband areas.
- Decorated Golf Carts
- Saddled horses are allowed in the parade.

Space is available for food trucks and vendors with parade items for sale. Vendors must provide your own (silent) power source; there will be no electricity available. Parade organizers are not responsible for losses, injuries or damages resulting from participation at the parade or events/activities leading up to the parade. The Indian Land parade is a rain or shine event and fees will not be refunded in the event of inclement weather. Food truck locations will be assigned on a first come basis by registration receipt dates.

We’re looking for individuals and groups to get involved by volunteering on the day of the Parade. Volunteer roles include parade route staking and flagging, parade marshals, litter patrol, and more. For volunteers identified to serve as drivers for special guests of the Parade, you must be at least 21 years old, and your auto insurance coverage must include collision.
Signup online, print and email it to ilcpoinc@gmail.com, or mail it to PO Box 1385 Waxhaw, NC 28173. Volunteers are encouraged to submit a form(s) as early as possible. December 8, 2022 is the deadline.

CREATING HOLIDAY MEMORIES
The ILCPO is a non-profit organization started in 2018 by a group of volunteers and community leaders in Indian Land. We are planning for this to be an annual event. We are excited to help pave the way for new community events as the Indian Land community continues to grow.
